Joint Annual Review Meeting

In her speech Ms. Naheed S. Durrani, Chairperson, Planning and Development Board, Government of Sindh, reiterated Government of Pakistan including Government of Sindh’s commitment to the agenda of developing human capital. “ It is not business as usual since we have learned some important lessons from our experience. Collective and integrated approach is critical for achieving the holistic impact. Isolated and fragmented work no longer needed hence we have to go beyond the call of duty” She added. Pointing out lacuna in implementation of various projects, Ms Durrani said that despite significant progress we still lag behind because there is a disconnect among different programs. For example, polio, HIV, EPI etc are implemented separately. Similarly, we are struggling with education sector. Enrollment has increased but quality of education still remains a big challenge. Lastly the Chairperson acknowledged UNICEF support for joining hands with Government of Sindh for improving status of children in the province.
