PPHI Sindh has embarked on a new initiative of establishing a kitchen garden within the premises of its health facilities in district Matiari.
The idea behind the initiative is to encourage families, who bring their Severely Acute Malnourished (SAM) children to PPHI OTP centres for treatment, to establish kitchen garden in similar ways at homes for fulfilling nutritional requirements.
By spreading this message of growing vegetables at home it is hoped that it would contribute towards increasing availability of fresh vegetables for consumption of children and PLWs(Pregnant and lactating women).
