University Seminars on Malnutrition Issues
Introduction
Building on the discussions initiated during district-level debates, SPO in collaboration with IRC will support the District Coordination and Communication Network (DCCN) in organizing university-level seminars. These seminars are designed to further explore and develop solutions to the health and nutrition policy issues highlighted during the district debates. Local Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) will also be encouraged to collaborate with DCCN in organizing these events, ensuring a wide range of perspectives and expertise.
Objectives
- To provide a platform for mid-level sectoral experts to present their insights and recommendations on health and nutrition policy-related issues.
- To create an opportunity for students who participated in district debates to engage directly with experts and receive feedback on the issues they have previously highlighted.
- To foster collaboration between universities, CSOs, and DCCN in addressing malnutrition at both policy and grassroots levels.
Approach
SPO, in collaboration with IRC, will invite sectoral experts to lead discussions and present policy recommendations. The seminars will focus on specific issues that emerged from the district-level debates, aiming to bridge the gap between policy and practice.
Student Engagement
Students who were active in the district debates will be invited to the seminars, where they will have the opportunity to interact with experts. This engagement is crucial for deepening their understanding of the malnutrition challenges and contributing to solution-oriented discussions.
Stakeholder Involvement
Local CSOs, DCCN, and other key stakeholders will play an active role in organizing the seminars, ensuring that the dialogue is inclusive and representative of the broader community’s views.
Expected Outcomes
- Enhanced understanding of malnutrition issues among university students and the broader academic community.
- Actionable recommendations for health and nutrition policy improvements.
- Strengthened collaboration between universities, CSOs, and DCCN in tackling malnutrition
