By addressing nutritional deficiencies and encouraging balanced diets, the initiative seeks to empower individuals and communities to lead healthier lives.

Project Brief

Accelerated Action Plan for reduction of Stunting & Malnutrition is multi-sectoral plan of action prepared by the government of Sindh, led by the Planning & development Board in collaboration with development partners. the plan focuses on international best practices to combat Malnutrition by adopting nutrition specific and nutrition sensitive interventions.

STUDIES DURING INTERVENTIONS

The National Nutrition Survey (NNS) was conducted in 2018, which brought the following figures

- - - Stunting 45.5%
    - Underweight 41.3%
    - Wasting 23.3%

In 2018, another Multi-indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) was conducted which brought the following

    - Wasting 14.8%
    - Underweight 40.7%

      - 896 OTP (Outpatient Therapeutic Programme)
        25 NSC (Nutrition stabilization centers) established across 23 districts
        6.7 million Children have been screened for malnutrition according to latest monthly progress
        724442 children aged 6 to 59 months have been registered at OTP
        28087 SAM (Severe Acute Malnutrition)children with complications treated at NSCs
        333669 RUTF(Ready to use Therapeutic food) have been supplied o the OTP and NSC for treatment of SAM (Severe Acute Malnourished) children

        113.438 million Fish seeds have been stocked across all water bodies of Sindh except Muncher Lake.

        Establishment of total 2681 kitchen gardens, out of which 870 main kitchen garden which is further replicated to 1181.

        Awareness raising through 132 TV Talk Shows, Radio Messages 10741, SMS Services, Social Media
        Campaigns, IEC Materials (Banner, Brochures and Pamphlets etc.)

        1017 Family Health Melas organized across 23 districts
